Parlez mes yeux

While accompanying herself on the lute, Emma- Lisa sings a selection of Airs de cour - famous courtly songs from the first half on the 17th century in France, which were composed for 4-5 voices and often arranged for voice and lute.

The poetry of this selection of songs plays around with the theme of the eyes and their gaze or tears - the eyes become objects of desire as much as the cause of dismay, or a source of bliss.

Showcasing the vocal works of Pierre Guédron, Antoine Boësset, and Étienne Moulinié, the program also features lute compositions of the same period by Nicolas Vallet and Pierre Ballard.

The premiere of this programme will take place at the Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht on the 29th of August 2026.
